Terry provided a summary of Chapter status after the URISA meetings in

The Northern
California Chapter of URISA now has full status as a Chapter.
2.
The Northern
California Chapter was recognized at the URISA meetings with an award for
organization and development of programs within the first year of existence.
3.
Attendees were
encouraged to join as Chapter members. Annual dues are $40.00 ($20.00 for
students). Members will not be charged for URISA sponsored workshops held by
the Chapter
4.
The next
Chapter meetings will be in February and April 2006. Dates, locations, and
times for those meetings will be available on the Chapter web site.

Elections
- Karen Beardsley and Robert Thomas announced the process for election of the
Board for the Chapter for 2006. The nomination and election process will be
handled via email and nominations are now open for all Chapter members. The
Officer positions are: President,
President-Elect, Past President (This will be Geney Terry), Secretary, and
Treasurer. Nominees for these positions must be members of URISA (National) in
good standing. In addition, there are four Member at Large Director Positions
on the Board who need not be members of URISA. Elections will be closed by
January 1, 2006.

Presentations - The remainder of the afternoon program on
Disaster Recovery was organized by Diana Carolan and Lorri Peltz-Lewis.

Terry then presented the role of GISCorps in the response to Katrina in the
Gulf area.

Peltz-Lewis then talked about the development of disaster recovery plans at
Bureau of Reclamation and testing of those plans during system service
interruptions.

then split into small groups to work though several disaster scenarios
affecting local business systems.
