attendees! This was the fourth Chapter
meeting.

Announcements (Harold):
1. Attendees and members are encouraged
to respond to the Chapter survey on the interest and needs. This survey will be
used to develop agendas for future meetings and to identify URISA sponsored
workshops.
2. Attendees are encouraged to join as
Chapter members. Annual dues are $40.00 ($20.00 for students). Members will not
be charged for URISA sponsored workshops held by the Chapter.

Certification Institute. The target number of certified GIS Professionals
(GISP) world wide by the end of 2005 is 1,000. www.gisci.org

Presentations (Lorri): The topic for these presentations was
customer implementation of different software for geospatial web data access
for their organization. The vendors represented included ESRI, Intergraph, and
MapInfo.
1.
Dean
Angeledes, ESRI, introduced Scott McAdara and Scott Christman of the
California Office of Statewide Health Planning and Development (OSHPD). They
presented OSHPD development of an enterprise model for three main business
functions. The spatial components are integrated in with the main groups of
data in use by the organization for access via the Web.
2.
Eric Bayer and
Jeff Hobbs, Intergraph, presented the GeoMedia Web development product. They
were unable to have an Intergraph user present a Web application. They
presented the development of Web application using the GeoMedia Web product.
3. Cathy Dubrosky, MapInfo, introduced Corisa Goldner of Bay Area Rapid Transit. They presented their award winning implementation of MapInfo for the law enforcement section of BART for a Web service on incident reporting and response.
