Due to a resignation from the Board, the Northern California Chapter of URISA is recruiting to fill the position of President-Elect for the remainder of this year's term, which runs through December of 2006. This vacancy may be filled by action of the Board of Directors from eligible candidates. A person typically elected to this position would serve one year as President-Elect, followed by one year as President, and one year as Past President. This position will take over as President of the Chapter on January 1, 2007.

The President-Elect assumes the duties of the President in the absence of the President, performs other duties as the President and Board recommends, and must be a URISA National member in good standing. (The requirement for officers of the Chapter to be members of the parent organization allows the Chapter to be covered by URISA's insurance policies.)
